Expected sequence
The Palau digital residency timeline has several parts: profile confirmation, verification, screening, government review, printing, packaging, and shipping. Some stages are controlled by RNS, some by the Government of Palau, and some by shipping carriers.
Review timing
RNS says document review during the verification flow takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes. Initial screening is listed at 24 to 72 hours. Government approval can take up to 7 days after initial screening.
RNS FAQ also says application as a Digital Resident of Palau normally takes 7 to 10 days to be approved, depending on any additional information needed.
Card production
After approval, your application enters a printing queue. RNS says printing and packaging typically take 7 to 14 business days.
This means "approved" and "card in hand" are not the same milestone. If you need the physical card for KYC, build in printing and shipping time.
Shipping
RNS says shipping times vary by destination country and may be affected by customs clearance and courier availability. Once shipped, RNS says you should receive an email with tracking.
If your country has unreliable delivery, use a shipping address that can receive tracked mail consistently. Also verify that RNS ships to your country before paying.
Practical planning
For low-stress planning, assume approval can take a week or more and the physical card can take additional weeks. Do not schedule exchange KYC, banking checks, travel extensions, or business deadlines around the fastest possible outcome.
