Current exclusion list

RNS FAQ says Palau Digital Residency is currently available to global citizens except people from North Korea, Iran, Syria, Cuba, Crimea, and Sudan. RNS FAQ also says shipping is worldwide except to those same locations.

Eligibility can change, and sanctions screening is part of the review process. Always check the official RNS portal before paying.

Citizenship, residence, and shipping can be different

Your citizenship, your current residence, your document country, and your shipping address may not be the same. That matters because the application process includes identity verification, compliance review, sanctions checks, government review, and physical card shipping.

Use this framework:

FactorWhat to check
CitizenshipWhether your nationality creates eligibility or screening issues
ResidenceWhether your current location affects payment or support
Document countryWhether your submitted ID is valid and has enough time before expiration
Shipping countryWhether the physical card can be delivered to you

If your country is not excluded

Not being on the exclusion list does not guarantee approval. RNS still describes KYC/AML review, sanctions checks, criminal background checks, and Palau government review.

If your main reason for applying is crypto KYC, remember that exchange acceptance varies even after you receive the physical card. Read Palau ID supported exchanges before relying on one platform.

If your situation is complicated

Do not guess if you have multiple passports, recent relocation, sanctions exposure, a difficult shipping address, or a document that is close to expiration.

Bottom line

The supported-countries question is not just a country list. It is a combination of eligibility, document quality, compliance screening, government review, payment, and shipping.
